For those who are completely under the radar, Shahs of Sunset is a new controversial show on Bravo. The premise of this show may very well be the migration of Iranians to America after the The Islamic Revolution of 1979, however this show may be the cause of another revolution in itself. As a second generation Persian American myself who’s parents both migrated to this country long before the revolution, I personally found this show to be horrible, offensive and embarrassing. I now know what any normal American Italian feels like after watching shows like;  The Jersey Shore and The Sopranos. This cast is NOT the most respectable group to say the least. What bothered me more than the petty ratings hungry show’s scripted cat-fights was when it decided to use MJ’s mother Vida to make the show less about Persians and more about religion… To say that “all the Iranian Jewish girls get fat and ugly after they get married ” was for me just as bad as any anti-religious comments from Mel Gibson.
